SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Summit League announced today that the Bulldogs collected two weekly awards after last weekend's match against Creighton. Will Ecklund was named the Kwik Star Summit League Singles Peak Performer of the Week, and Ecklund and Ben Johnson were named the Kwik Star Doubles Peak Team of the Week.
 
Ecklund secured the lone singles win in the Bulldogs' match against the hot Creighton Blue Jays, who hold a 6-1 record. He started the singles contest strong, taking the first set 6-2 over Ethan Neil. But Neil battled back and defeated Ecklund 6-0 in the second set, teeing up the deciding third set. Ecklund bounced back from his second-set loss and won 6-1 to secure the match victory.
 
Before Ecklund's singles win, he and Johnson took down Creighton's top doubles duo — Neil and Rocky McKenzie — in a 6-3 decision. This weekly award from the Summit League is Ecklund and Johnson's second in a row, and the duo improved their season record to 4-2 after the win.
 
Drake will hit the court again at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 at Indiana University.
