DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake women's tennis earned their second conference win of the season on Friday. The Bulldogs ousted Missouri State by a score of 5-2 in their penultimate regular season contest.
 
Drake secured the singles point after Jessica Popiol and Jana Ruzic took down the Bears' Billur Gonulsen/Elif Gunal 6-3. in the No. 1 spot. Nicole Lee and Tess Caldicott earned their win by forfeit to put the Dogs up 1-0 in the match.
 
Gunal and Gonulsen got payback in the singles bouts with defeats of Popiol and Elizabete Klavinska at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Shiori Takeda picked up a victory at No. 3 over Sandra Lukacova. Jana Ruzic then won at No. 4 over Missouri State's Raluca Puscas and Caldicott swept Lola Federski at No. 5.
 
Nicole Lee earned another win via forfeit at No. 6 as Drake wrapped up the 5-2 result.
 
The Bulldogs will conclude their regular season slate tomorrow at noon when Murray State visits Des Moines. Drake will celebrate Senior Day against the Racers.
