IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Drake University track and field team wrapped up its penultimate regular season meet on Saturday in Iowa City. The Bulldog produced solid results at the Musco Twilight hosted by the University of Iowa.
Field events highlighted Drake's trip to Iowa City with a quartet of top three finished.
Centaine Noom-Duckworth, who is redshirting this season, won the women's hammer throw as an unattached athlete. Noom-Duckworth posted a top mark of 57.40m/188'-4" to earn first place.
Lara Smits and
Malachi Collier added a pair of runner-up finishes in the women's discus and men's long jump, respectively. Smits tossed 46.31m/151'-11" to take the second spot while Collier jumped 6.85m/22'-5.75". Smits also produced a third-place result in the women's shot put with a heave of 15.00m/49'-2.5".
Elsewhere in the field,
Zofia Landowska earned fourth in the women's long jump at 5.06m/16'-7.25".
Cooper Cerese (shot put),
Adam Phillips (hammer throw),
Christopher Norris (javelin),
Ayla Barrett (high jump), and
Sam Carpenter (hammer throw) added a fifth-place finish each. Carpenter also took sixth in the men's hammer while
Maud Visscher landed in the same place in the women's shot.
Dylan DeAngelo had the best Bulldog finish on the track with a third-place result in the men's 400 hurdles. He ran in 53.90.
Savannah Ming (12.10) and
Justin Cunningham (10.78) placed fourth in the women's and men's 100m dashes, respectively.
Favor Omoijuanfo (12.51) took sixth in the women's division.
The Bulldog track efforts were rounded out by
Drake Dombrosky's 22.11 200, good enough for fifth place, and a trio of sixth place finishes from Emmaline Nau in the women's 100 hurdles,
Hayden Cross in the men's 400, and
Meghan Coulter in the women's 1500.
Drake's regular season slate of meets will wrap up next week with the Cyclone Twilight in Ames on Friday, May 9.
