ST. LOUIS, Mo. —
Jalen Quinn of Drake men's basketball has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Quinn led Drake to a 2-0 week with wins over Murray State and Indiana State and averaged 30.5 points per game dropping 34 against the Racers and following with 27 against the Sycamores. His 34 points set a career-high and were the second highest point total by a player in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. His 34-point outburst also tied for No. 40 on the all-time Drake single-game scoring list. He shot at an efficient clip from the field going 25-for-42 (.595) and converted 10-of-16 attempts from the charity stripe for the week to go along with 5.0 rebounds per game and added 3.0 steals per game on the defensive end.
Quinn and the Bulldogs will take to the court for their next contest on Wednesday against Evansville. Tip-off from the Knapp Center is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT.
