The Basics
Drake women's tennis is set to start a 5-match homestand this weekend as Chicago State (Feb. 20) and Saint Louis (Feb. 22) come to town.
 
Bulldog Breakdown
The Bulldogs finally got off their winless skid to start the year last week with a 4-3 victory over St. Thomas on the road. Drake was then handed another loss by Minnesota to end its trip to the Twin Cities.
 
Drake No. 1 Maja Dodik continued her solid start to the year with a singles win over the Tommies' Emilie Korseth. Dodik then teamed up with Kristina Tai in doubles action for another victory against St. Thomas. Jordane Dookie highlighted Drake's effort vs. Minnesota with a No. 3 win.
 
Scouting Chicago State
The Cougars are still seeking their first win of the 2026 season with losses in their first eight matches. Most recently, Chicago State dropped a 6-0 tilt to Kentucky on Valentine's Day.
 
Drake has never lost to Chicago State with a 6-0 advantage in the all-time series. The Bulldogs won a pair of contests over the Cougars last season.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
SLU currently owns a 1-3 record this season with a loss in its most recent match. The Billikens opened with losses at Illinois State and Missouri before beating Western Illinois in Macomb. SLU suffered a 4-2 defeat to Northern Illinois in their last fixture and will battle Chicago State on Saturday before taking on Drake this Sunday.
 
The Billikens hold a narrow 2-1 advantage in the all-time series between Saint Louis and Drake. SLU won the most recent battle in 2017. Drake's only win in the series came a year prior.

Drake's homestand will continue as the calendar turns to March. The Bulldogs will host SIUE (Mar. 6), Omaha (Mar. 7), and South Dakota (Mar. 14) ahead of their spring break trip to the Sunshine State.
