DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake women's tennis won its second match in a row with a 4-0 shutout victory over Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon in Des Moines.
Maja Dodik and
Jordane Dookie started the day off strong with a 6-1 win over Naima Luthra and Aryn Walker in the second doubles slot. SLU was able to take the No. 1 doubles duel by a 7-5 margin, but
Elizabete Klavinska and
Milana Dejanovic eventually secured the doubles points with a dramatic win over Nicolly Ferreria and Fiorella Duran at No. 3.
Three of singles matches were eventually abandoned as Drake rolled to three quick individual wins to finalize the 4-0 score.
Dejanovic, Drake's No. 5 player, beat Luthra 6-3, 6-1 before her doubles partner, Klavinska, added another win in straight sets.
Dodik later deposited Emmerson White in the top match 6-4, 6-1, giving Drake its fourth point of the day and the match win.
Drake's homestand will continue on March 6 and 7 with matches against SIUE and Omaha, respectively.
