ST. LOUIS, Mo. – A selection of Drake University tracksters hit the ground running in St. Louis over the weekend at the WashU Distance Carnival. The Bulldogs posted a trio of top 20 finishers in a competitive field.
Breanna Burak led a loaded women's 10k race with an 11th place finish after pacing 35:56.66. Burak was the first of four finishers in the 10k as
Sophia Agan (37:55.42),
Anika Mohrhauser (38:16.10), and
Amilia Condon (38:42.12) rounded out the Bulldog runners.
Ella Brown added another top 12 result with a 2:14.22 time in the women's 800.
The Drake men's squad was led by
Xander Kwa with a 14:27.17 time in the 5k, good enough for 19th.
Daniel Rotich crossed the line in 24th (14:29.13) while
Daghyn True finished in 48th with a time of 14:47.51.
Drake will be back in action on the world-famous Blue Oval at the 2026 Jim Duncan Invitational. The Bulldogs are set to host this year's meet on Friday, Apr. 10.
