Drake looking to continue winning streak as homestand marches on

The Basics
Drake women's tennis will continue its current homestand with two more matches this weekend. The Bulldogs will be hosted SIUE (Mar. 6) and Omaha (Mar.7) with hopes of adding to their 2-game winning spurt.

Bulldog Breakdown
The Bulldogs got back in the W column with a pair of shutout wins in their last weekend on the court. Drake dominated Chicago State, 7-0, before blanking Saint Louis, 4-0.

Drake No. 1 Maja Dodik built upon her stellar 2026 campaign with another MVC Singles Player of the Week honor. She began the week with a 3-set win over the Cougars' Karolina Skowronski before taking down SLU's Emmerson White.

Scouting SIUE
The Cougars 7-2 on the season with their only losses coming at Missouri on Feb. 7 and Marquette on Feb. 21. Most recently, SIUE also beat Chicago State and Saint Louis. Earlier this season the Cougars took down other MVC adversaries in Valpo, UNI, and Bradley.

Drake leads SIUE in the all-time series between the two teams by a 3-1 margin. The Bulldogs have won the last two matchups, most recently via a 5-2 decision in 2019. SIUE's only win in the series came in 2017 in Des Moines.

Scouting Omaha
Omaha enters the weekend at 6-6 overall and is coming off a 4-3 loss to cross-town rival Creighton on Feb. 22. The Mavericks' loss to the Bluejays snapped a 4-match winning streak including a 7-0 shutout over Western Illinois on Feb. 20.

The Bulldogs hold a healthy advantage in their all-time series with Omaha. Drake has won 15 of 16 matches with the Mavericks' only win coming last season in Des Moines.
