LOUISVILLE, Ky. - 17 members of the Drake softball team were named to the Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete Team following the conclusion of the 2025-26 academic season, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs that were honored by the NFCA were Tatum Aragon, Maia Bentley, Brooklynn Cardenas, Peyton Driscoll, Cassidy Gall, Lili Gonzalez, Finley Hall, Pearson Hall, Kiley Kindelspire, Abby Martin, Lydia Olejniczak, Frankie Rita, Jayme Scheck, Ashlynn Sheets, Natalee Watts, Leanna Watts, and Malea Yoxsimer. Student-athletes must achieve a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the award. As a team, Drake softball carried a GPA of 3.62.
The award, which has been issued since the 2013-14 season, recognizes the academic prowess of softball teams across the NFCA's membership categories. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,637 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2025-26. NCAA Division III followed with 2,491 and NCAA Division II with 1,869.
