DES MOINES, Iowa – Drake softball head coach Lindsay Diehl has announced the addition of Tatum Aragon Bulthuis to the Bulldog coaching staff. Aragon Bulthuis will serve as an assistant coach as part of Diehl's staff.

A recent graduate of Drake University and former Drake softball player, Aragon Bulthuis played two seasons for the Bulldogs in 2025 and 2026. As a junior, she appeared in 46 games and hit .280 for the season with a .384 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .333. She tallied seven doubles, two home runs, and ranked second on the team with 23 RBI.
As a senior, she appeared in 51 games, hit .293 with a .393 slugging percentage and an on base percentage of .325. She also added six doubles, three home runs, and led the team with 32 RBI.

Career highlights for Aragon Bulthuis as a Bulldog include her hitting three home runs in a single game against UNI on April 13, 2026, which tied for the most home runs hit in a single game by a player in all of Division I that season and garnering MVC Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week honors.

A native of Fort Collins, Colorado, Aragon Bulthuis spent two seasons at Indian Hills Community College playing under Coach Diehl before transferring to Drake. She appeared in 111 games for the Warriors and slashed .367/.418/.565 for her career with 39 doubles, two triples, and nine home runs to go along with 81 RBI over her two seasons. She was also a NJCAA All-Region 11 First-Team selection as a freshman and was tabbed with NJCAA All-Region 11 Second-Team Designated Player honors as a sophomore.

"We are excited for Tatum to join our coaching staff," Diehl said. "She is familiar with Drake University and knows what we are trying to build here. Tatum grew up at the ballpark and since the time I started coaching her, she saw the game and asked questions like a coach. She will assist in all aspects of the game and help our athletes be successful both on and off the field."
