DES MOINES, IOWA - Senior Ashley Anklam (Bloomington, Minn.) placed fourth to pace the Drake women's cross country team in the annual Bulldog Classic Friday at Ewing Park.

Anklam, who finished runner up at the 2006 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, was clocked in 15 minutes for the 4,000-meter race.

Senior Skyler Nesheim (Southeast Polk) led the Drake men's team with a 12th place finish, while being timed in 12:31.

"It was a solid opener for both the men and women," said Drake cross country coach Dan Hostager. "It was really our first workout of the season, so it was a good fitness indicator to where we are right now."
