Freshmen Continue To Shine For Women's Track & Field Team At Iowa State Open

AMES, IOWA ? Freshmen continue to shine for the Drake women's track and field team with several newcomers displaying sterling performances at the Iowa State Open Saturday.

Freshman Ari Curtis (Fort Collins, Colo.) was third in the triple jump at 37 feet 8.75 inches. Freshman Kara McCartney (Elgin, Iowa) was fourth in the 600-yard run in 1:27.78. Freshman Tyse Samani (Kansas City, Mo.) tied for sixth in the high jump at 5-2.25.

Freshman Casey McDermott (Newton, Iowa) was sixth in the 800 in 2:17.55, while freshman Cambria Pardner (Aurora, Colo.) was ninth in the long jump at
17-6.25. Junior Nicole Braunsdorf (St. Francis, Wis.) was 14th in the 800 (2:23.26). Sophomore Courtney Heinz (St. Paul, Minn.) was 17th in the mile (5:24.29).
