ORLANDO, FLA. ? The Auburn softball team needed nine innings to down the Drake softball team, 1-0, in the second day of the UCF Tournament Saturday.
The game, which was originally scheduled for a 11:30 a.m. start was postponed due to rain.
Drake recorded its only hit of the game in the first inning when
Kristin Birocci (Des Moines, Iowa) singled to right field.
Sophomore pitcher
Mandy Osborn (Omaha, Neb.) held the Tigers hitless until the third inning.
Auburn was threatening to score in the fifth inning, with the bases loaded when Osborn forced Kyndall White into a ground out to Drake second baseman
Jaci Faidley (Colfax, Iowa) getting out of the inning.
The Tigers scored the deciding run on a Katie Colton RBI single to right center, scoring White.
Drake wraps up action at the UCF Tournament facing tournament host Central Florida at 11 a.m. Sunday.
