TERRE HAUTE, IND. ? Freshman Jenna DeLong (Dalton Gardens, Idaho) and senior Jaci Faidley (Colfax, Iowa) hit back to back two-run home runs in the sixth and seventh innings to lift the Drake softball team to a 5-1 win over Indiana State Friday.

The Bulldogs scored five unearned runs in the second inning of the nightcap to compete the doubleheader sweep, 6-2.

Faidley singled-home Kristin Birocci (Des Moines, Iowa) to kick off the Bulldogs day in Terre Haute.

Freshman pitcher Brynne Dordel (Chanhassen, Minn.) struck out nine batters while giving up only two hits to the host Sycamores.

Faidley led the Bulldogs at the plate going 2-4 with three RBI, while DeLong went 2-3.

Drake's five unearned run gave them the fuel they needed to power past Indiana State in the second game of the day.

Elena Leon (West Des Moines, Iowa) walked to lead off the second inning, then stole second and scored when Erin Mollohan (Tinley Park, Ill.) struck out but reached on a catching error.

Susan Slycord (West Des Moines, Iowa) scored Drake's second run of the inning by driving in DeLong on a double to center field.

Carrie Hatfield (Des Moines, Iowa) scored on a fielder's choice before Birocci doubled to drive in Slycord and Marilyn Buss (West Des Moines, Iowa) capping off the five run inning

The Bulldogs added an insurance run in the fifth inning when DeLong singled-home Leon.

Mandy Osborn (Omaha, Neb.) recorded the win in the second game by striking out five batters and allowing only one earned run.

Drake wraps up the three game series with Indiana State with a noon game on Saturday.
