OMAHA, NEB. ?The Drake softball team held Creighton to only four hits, but ultimately fell to the Bluejays, 2-0, completing its regular season Missouri Valley Conference series Wednesday night.

The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Drake which fell to 22-20 overall , including a 11-6 MVC record.

Bulldogs pitcher Brynne Dordel (Chanhassen, Minn.) struck out nine batters in six innings.

Senior Marilyn Buss' (West Des Moines, Iowa) lead-off single in the fourth inning spoiled Creighton's Tara Oltman's hopes of a no-hitter.

Sophomore Elena Leon (West Des Moines, Iowa) recorded the Bulldogs only other hit in the fifth inning when she hit a one-out single up the middle.

Creighton recorded their first run in the fourth inning Cassidy Nee singled-home Bailey Dawson.

The Bluejays, who snapped a four game Drake winning streak, added an insurance run on a lead off home run by Renae Sinkler in the sixth inning.

Drake returns to action in a doubleheader at noon at Illinois State on Saturday.
