PRIMM, NEV. -- The Drake women's golf team finished 14th in the inaugural GolfWeek Conference Challenge Tuesday with a 311-312-311=934 at the Desert Course at Primm Valley Casino Resorts.
The tournament featured 18 of the top women's golf teams in the nation from 18 different conferences.
Drake senior Olivia Lansing (Dellwood, Minn.) tied for 19th overall with a 73-73-77=223. Lansing, who started play on Tuesday off the 10th tee, had birdies on the Nos. 4 and 18 holes.
"We were a little disappointed with our play today," said Drake golf coach Scott Bohlender. "We scored the same as the last two days but the weather was more ideal today. Still, this was good competition against some of the top-ranked programs in the country. It showed us where we are. Olivia (Lansing) hung right in there with some of the top golfers. She just had two bad holes with double bogeys today."
Drake junior Michelle Mathwick (Greenfield, Wis.) tied for 56th at 77-82-76=235. Drake seniors Kelly Godwin (Centerville, Minn.) and Elena Vukmir (Wauwatosa, Wis.) tied for 70th. Godwin finished with an 81-79-78=238, while Vukmir had an 80-78-80=238.
Godwin had a birdie on the seventh hole, while Mathwick made a birdie putt on the 12th hole.
Drake junior Kaitlyn Mauk (West Des Moines, Iowa) tied for 83rd with an 81-83-80=244.
