AMES, IOWA - After running a personal best last weekend at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, junior Ben Jaskowiak (Madison, Wis.) ran another personal best time to place second at the 3,000 meter race at the Iowa State Classic on Friday (Feb. 11).
Jaskowiak's time of 8:38.20 shattered his old personal record by more than 10 seconds.
Freshman Ryan Flynn (Bettendorf, Iowa) was 13th in the 3,000-meter race finishing in at 8:50.47, while sophomore Mike Rodriguez (Chanhassen, Minn.) registered a 17th-place finish clocking in at 8:55.58.
Sophomore Isaac Twombly (Baldwin, Kan.) tied for 21st in the weight throw with a toss of 53 feet, 1.5 inches.
Junior Jon DeGrave (Lake Villa, Ill.) was 27th in the 200-meter dash finishing in 22.04.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday (Feb. 12) for the conclusion of the ISU Classic. Competition at the Lied Recreation Center will start at 9 a.m. with the women's non-seeded mile.
