Crew Wins Six Races At Wichita

WICHITA, Kan – The Drake University women's rowing team swept Wichita State last weekend at the Charlie Thomas Memorial Row in Wichita, Kan. The Bulldogs earned two victories each in the Varsity Four and Varsity Eight races and added wins in the Junior Varsity Eight and the Novice Eight.

The Varsity Eight team of Leslie Sabick (Bloomington, Ill), Kat Moore (Brooklyn Center, Minn.), Susan Goulette (New Brighton, Minn.), Andrea Piekarczyk (Downers Grove, Ill.), Kelli Beimal (North Riverside, Ill.) Samantha Williams (Oxford, Iowa), Brittany Michael (Pleasant Hill, Iowa), Megan Bannister (LaGrange, Ill.) and Hilary Dietz (Schaumburg, Ill.) beat the Shockers twice, logging a time of 6:17.00 in the opening race and a 6:23.80 mark in the second running.

The Varsity Four squad beat Wichita State by eight seconds in both races. Full results are included below.
