- The Drake
women's golf team opened its spring campaign firing a two-round total of 653 (328-325=653)
to sit 11th of 14 teams at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Monday (March 12) at
the Primm Valley Golf Club.
Freshman Danielle Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.) earned the Bulldogs' best finish, carding a
two-round score of 161 (83-78=161) to stand tied for 27th.
One stroke off her
pace at 162 (79-83=162) was junior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood,
Minn.), who is tied for 30th.
Rounding out the
Bulldogs' top five were sophomore Hadley Jennings (Trenton,
Mo.), and seniors Paige Menze (Oxbow, N.D.) and Christy Wittmer (Hampton, Iowa).
They turned in two-round scores of 166 (83-83=166/T-41st), 168 (87-81=168/T-50th)
and 171 (83-88=171/T-57th), respectively.
Competition concludes
on Tuesday (March 13) with a shotgun start at 10:15 a.m. CT commencing the
tournament's final 18 holes.
