BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Drake women's golf team completed play in its second tournament of the fall season at the Lady Clerico on Tuesday afternoon and finished in eighth place with a 54-hole team total of 900 (302-294-304).
Southern Miss won the tournament and was the only team to finish under par with a 3-under, 861 total score.
Julie Huggins had another strong showing for the Bulldogs and recorded her second consecutive top-10 result individually. Huggins led Drake on the leaderboard tying for 10th after posting a total score of 216. She displayed her consistency throughout the tournament firing rounds of 73-71-72 and was the only Bulldog to post a round of even par or better.
Finishing outside of the top-30 were
Kate Connolly and
Rylee Heryford. Connolly finished tied for 33rd at 226 with back-to-back rounds of 74 and a final round of 78. Meanwhile, Heryford, in her first action of the fall, carded a 228 total with scores of 77-73-78.
The remaining duo of
Isabella Elgert and
Alexis Reyes completed the Bulldog lineup. Elgert tied for 51st at 237 (78-76-83) and Reyes was one shot behind at 238 (83-79-76) showing improvement with each round and tied for 52nd.
Abilene Christian's Ryann Honea claimed individual medalist honors with a staggering 11-under, 205.
Drake will have next week off before it returns to action at the Diane Thomason Invitational from Iowa City, Iowa, Sep. 29-30.
