WHAT'S AHEAD: Visiting
California for the second time this week, the Drake women's golf team travels
to Monterey to compete in the 14-team Monterey Bay Invitational (March
18-20). The three-day, 54-hole
event, co-hosted by the Bulldogs and Missouri State at the Del Monte Golf Course is slated for 10:00 a.m. CT tee times
each day.
A LOOK BACK: Drake wrapped
up play in the Bulldogs' first event of the spring campaign on Tuesday (March
13), carding a 54-hole mark of 993 (328-325-340=993), to finish 11th among 14
teams at the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by the Primm Valley Golf Club in Primm. Nev.
Sophomore Hadley Jennings
(Trenton, Mo.) carded a final-round 79 to conclude the event as Drake's top
finisher (33rd) with a 245 (83-83-79=245) score.
Freshman Danielle Brooks
(Red Wing, Minn.) was four shots off her pace earning a 41st-place showing,
firing a three-round score of 249 (83-78-88=249).
Rounding out the Bulldogs' top five were senior Paige Menze (Oxbow, N.D.), junior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood, Minn.) and
senior Christy Wittmer (Hampton,
Iowa). They turned in tournament scores of 251 (87-81-83=251/T-46th), 253
(79-83-91=253/T-51st) and 261 (83-88-90=261/64th), respectively.
UP NEXT: Drake
travels to Peoria, Ill., to compete in the Bradley Spring Invitational (April
6-7).
