TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Drake women's golf team carded a second-round score of 341
to stand ninth of 10 teams after 36 holes at the State Farm Missouri Valley
Conference Championship hosted by Indiana State at the Country Club of Terre
Haute on Monday (April 23).
The Bulldogs maintain
a 36-hole mark of 664 (323-341=664).
"Winds played a factor in play today and
we really struggled in our efforts, Drake head coach Leanne Smith commented.
"We're hoping to show improvement tomorrow and finish off our campaign
on a strong note."
Junior Chelsey Falk (Glenwood, Minn.) fired
the Bulldogs' low round of the day shooting an 82 for a two-day score of 163,
which is tied for 32nd-place.
Two strokes off her
tournament total is freshman Danielle
Brooks (Red Wing, Minn.), who posted an 84, to situate herself
in 37th-place with a 165 (81-84=165) total.
Firing scores of 86
and 89, to stand in 41st- and tied for 47th-place, respectively, were seniors Paige Menze
(Oxbow, N.D.) and Christy
Wittmer (Hampton, Iowa).
Sophomore Hadley Jennings (Trenton, Mo.) fired
the low round for the Bulldogs of 79, but unfortunately for Drake, her score
was disqualified following the round for a rules infraction.
The disqualification
resulted in a 10-stroke swing for the Bulldogs, who will look to put forward a
strong finish when the final 18 holes tee off on Tuesday (April 24) at 8:30
a.m. CT.
DRAKE RESULTS: Chelsey Falk 163 (81-82=163/T-32nd), Danielle
