DES MOINES, Iowa - The Drake men's tennis will play for as many as four singles titles on final-day action at the Drake Fall Invitational after registering a 12-2 singles mark on Saturday (Sept. 22) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.

"I thought we played great in singles today with five Drake players reaching their respective finals," Drake head coach Davidson Kozlowski commented.  "Going into this weekend I wanted to see how freshman Ben Lott would handle his first exposure to college tennis.  Ben has handled himself nicely, playing well in doubles yesterday going 2-1, and then dominating both his opponents today in singles.  I also was interested to see how sophomore Ben Mullis would fare stepping up into the top flight and so far so good from Mullis, as he won both matches today in straight sets and will play in the finals tomorrow of Flight A."

Sophomore Ben Mullis (Leicestershire, England) moved into the title tilt in the 'A' draw on the strength of victories over Ben Gendron (6-0, 6-2) and Dor Amir (6-4, 6-3) of Northern Colorado and Northern Illinois, respectively.

A scheduled showdown between junior Robin Goodman (Cambridge, England) and freshman Ben Lott (Newcastle, England) awaits in the 'B' flight after both Bulldogs recorded a pair of wins.

Senior Ryan Drake (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) advanced to the championship match in the 'E' draw with triumphs past August Nysted (6-1, 6-1) of Creighton and Marcel Gyswyt (6-2, 6-1) of Gustavus Adolphus.

Senior James McKie (Edinburgh, Scotland) rounds out Drake's finalists reaching the title match in the 'F' flight besting Anthony Rauschenbach (6-0, 6-2) of Creighton and Max Phillips (6-2, 6-2) of Northern Illinois.

Final-day singles competition begins at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 23) at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
