NORMAN, Okla. – Junior Ben Lott (Newcastle, England) continued his impressive fall campaign for the Drake men's tennis team registering a pair of victories to move into the semifinal round of the main singles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional on Sunday (Oct. 12).

Lott will face No. 22 Leandro Toledo of Minnesota on Monday (Oct. 13) in the semifinals for the right to play for the regional title later in the day.

Lott opened his day besting Matic Spec of Minnesota, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) to advance to the quarterfinals. He then took to the court with a berth in the semifinals on the line battling the tournament's No. 2 seed and 16th-ranked Dane Webb of Oklahoma. Lott took the initial set, 7-5, before Webb fought back to take the second, 6-2. The deciding third frame went to the tiebreaker with Lott claiming the victory on the strength of a 7-6 (2) triumph to win the match 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (2).

Fourth-seeded and 37th-ranked senior Alen Salibasic (Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina) moved into the quarterfinal round dispatching 82nd-rated Arjun Kadhe of Oklahoma State, 7-5, 6-4. Salibasic then locked horns with Iowa's Matt Hagan in a three-set battle that ultimately went in favor of Hagan, 6-7 (6), 7-6 (4), 6-4.

A pair of victories on Monday (Oct. 13) for Lott and he will earn a berth into next month's United States Tennis Association (USTA)/ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y.
