Men’s Basketball Welcomes UNI For A 1 p.m. Whiteout Game

Bulldogs and Panthers to meet for the second time this season on CBS Sports Network

The Drake University men's basketball team returns to the Knapp Center Saturday to host in-state rival, UNI at 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Saturday's rematch with the Panthers is also the Bulldogs' annual 'Whiteout' game with fans encouraged to populate the Knapp Center in their finest white Drake shirts. The first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a free white t-shirt courtesy of Drake West Village.

At halftime of Saturday's game, Drake will honor this year's Double D Award recipients, Dave Doeren and Heidy Pemsl LaFleur. To learn more about this year's Double D honorees, click here.

The Bulldogs begin the two-game homestand with a 6-17 overall record and a 1-10 mark in MVC play. In the Bulldogs' last home game, the squad earned an 80-70 win over Bradley.  UNI has won three-straight MVC games to improve to 5-6 in the MVC and 13-11 overall.

In the first meeting between the two programs this season, UNI earned a 77-44 victory in Cedar Falls.

Drake sophomore Ore Arogundade has averaged 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game in the last five games. At Indiana State, Arogundade had a career-high 15 points with eight rebounds. Against Loyola and Missouri State he had then career highs of 12 points and added a career-high nine rebounds against Bradley. Read more about Arogundade's resurgent sophomore season here.

Freshman center Dominik Olejniczak has also seen his offensive production surge as he is 19-of-23 from the field in the last six games and averaging 7.5 points per game during that span. At Indiana State, he hauled in 10 rebounds.

Drake's leading scorer, Reed Timmer, has two 20-point and two 19-point outings in the last six games. He has now scored 20 or more points seven times this season and scored 19 points in five other games. At Indiana State, he scored 15 points with a career-high 10 rebounds.
