Rai Ahmed-Green, a junior from Irvine, Calif. has been named this week's Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs.
Ahmed-Green, a member of the Drake track and field team, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Holiday Inn Invite, hosted by the University of Nebraska.
Ahmed-Green won the 400 meters with a time of 56.50, just shy of her indoor personal best. She also finished third in the 200 meters with a time fo 25.14, missing her personal best by one one-hundreth of a second. Ahmed-Green also ran the leadoff leg on the 4x400-meter-relay that finished in second place with the seventh-fastest time in school history in 3:50.61.
Academically, Ahmed-Green holds a 3.85 grade point average as a Law, Politics & Society major at Drake.
Ahmed-Green and the Drake track and field teams return to competition Friday, Jan. 20, at the Tiger Invite, hosted by the University of Missouri.
