The Drake University cross country teams returns to action Friday, Oct. 13, following three weeks of training to compete in the Bradley Pink Classic, the team's final competition before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
The Bulldogs are set to race against 32 Division I programs at the competition with the men's 8k race beginning at 3:15 p.m. followed by the women's 6k at 4 p.m. The races are two five the host Bradley is staging Friday afternoon on their fast course.
The men's 8k race will be the second-straight race of that distance as the team finishing in the top-10 overall at the distance at last month's Roy Griak Invitational with
Josh Yeager (Center Point, Iowa) leading the Bulldogs to earn MVC Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors. The men's race features 28 Division I schools, including nine that are regionally ranked.
The women's 6k race will be the Bulldogs' third race at that distance this year, which is longer than the MVC Championship 5k race.
Bailee Cofer (Overland Park, Kan.) has been the women's team's top finisher in each race this season, including the last two 6k races. The women's race has 31 teams competing for the title, including 11 programs that are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA regional polls.
