DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake University women's tennis team travels to Normal, Ill. for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship and will square off against Evansville in the first-round on Friday at 12 p.m.
 
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 10-10 overall record and a 2-5 MVC mark. Drake will be looking to snap its three-match skid after falling to Evansville and Southern Illinois last weekend. Junior Summer Brills leads the team with 13 dual match singles wins, while sophomore Joely Lomas has totaled 11 victories. Junior Tess Herder, who was named first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete earlier this week, holds a 10-5 dual match singles record.
 
Evansville has won six of its last seven match to end the regular season with a 16-13 record. Diana Tkachenko leads the Purple Aces with a 22-6 singles record. Andrea Pascual—Larri has recorded 17 wins, while Daria Pentsova has 15.
 
The winner will play the winner of No. 1-seed Wichita State and No.8/9 Stony Brook/Northern Iowa on Saturday at 2 p.m.
