Vinny Gillespie dropped two matches at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif. on Friday.
The Bulldogs got out to an extremely great start at the Drake Invitational. Senior
Ben Wood and junior
Tom Hands won the Flight 1 doubles draw, while junior
Ben Clark and sophomore
Barny Thorold took home the Flight 2 draw.
Gillespie, who is ranked 52nd nationally in singles, came up just short to No. 49 Billy Griffith from California, losing 7-6(3), 6-4 in the second-round of the exclusive Oracle ITA Masters. He ended his day falling in the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles draw with partner Elizabeth Tsvetokov from Stony Brook.
The Bulldogs will continue competition at the Drake Invitational with the first three rounds of the singles draws on Saturday.
