The Drake University men's tennis team began its week-long cross country Spring Break trip with a 5-2 loss at Tulsa Saturday, March 16, afternoon.
 
Using a reconfigured lineup, Drake's (13-8) No. 78 Tom Hands moved into the No. 1 singles spot and defeated No. 52 Majed Kilani, 5-7, 7-6, 10-7 in the final match of the competition to earn the Bulldogs' second point of the day. 
 
Earlier in competition, Calum MacGeoch earned a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles to keep the Bulldogs alive before Tulsa picked up the fourth and clinching point at No. 2 singles. The Golden Hurricane's Joshua Goodger picked up that 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 victory over No. 57 Vinny Gillespie to give Tulsa the home win.
 
The Bulldogs travel to the Land of Enchantment next for a March 18 match at the University of New Mexico.
