DES MOINES, Iowa – Senior defender Liam Wilson earned a place on College Soccer News' National Team of the Week, the website announced Tuesday.
 
Wilson has played all 270 minutes in Drake's last three matches, all three of which were shutout wins, serving as the rock of the back line.
 
"We are delighted that Liam has received this level of recognition as it is a deserved reward for his performances and the amount of time he invests for the team," said Drake head coach Gareth Smith. "He has demonstrated strong leadership in our back line and has been instrumental in helping us with three great defensive displays and consecutive wins. I'm delighted for him, and this is a great platform to build on through the rest of our conference play."
 
Wilson is the second Bulldog to garner recognition this week. Goalkeeper Luke Anderson was named the Missouri Valley Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Drake (4-3-0, 1-0-0 MVC) travels to Valparaiso on Wednesday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
