Women's Track and Field Drake Athletic Communications

Track & Field Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

Bulldogs honored for their success in the classroom.

Both Drake men's and women's track & field programs and three student-athletes earned academic recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced July 16.

The teams received the USTFCCCA All-Academic Award for posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Drake's women's team earned the honor with an impressive team GPA of 3.53, the second-best mark in the Missouri Valley Conference, while the men's team recorded a team GPA of 3.31 to earn the honor. 

Three Bulldogs also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. To earn the award, student-athletes must have a 3.25 or better cumulative GPA and have finished the season ranked in the top 96 nationally in their event.

Adam Fogg and Joey Harkins earned the award from the men's team, while Maja Gebauer did so for the women's team.
