The Drake University women's tennis team collected eight wins on the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championship, held at Valparaiso, Friday Oct. 8. 
 
The Bulldogs collected five wins in the singles portion of the tournament and three in the doubles.
 
Kelsey Neville, Ines Stephani, and Liza Petushkova all won their first round of singles and doubles play to advance to the next round.

Stephani and Petushkova defeated UNI's Dalecka and Cardoso. The Bulldogs duo will face Illinois State's Zlatanovic and Potsi Saturday morning. 
 
Matches resume Saturday Oct. 9 with doubles starting at 9 a.m. and single matches to follow.
