KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Drake University's
Haeri Lee finished the first two rounds of the Diane Daugherty Invite tied for second with a two-round score of 75-72 – 147 to help the Drake women's golf team sit in eighth place after the first day of action.
As a team, the Bulldogs recorded rounds of 313-317 – 630 heading into Tuesday's final round at the Greenbriar Hills Country Club.
Lee had seven birdies on the day and six in her afternoon round to help card her 1-over par 72 in a round that also included four bogeys and a triple-bogey. Her morning round featured an even-par total on the front nine and a 4-over effort on the back. She enters Tuesday's final round two strokes off the lead set by Bradley's Taylor Ledwein on the 6,042-yard track.
Kristen Giles was behind Lee in scoring with a 76-70 – 156 to tie for 21
st while newcomer Aauyshi Sarkar was tied for 54
th at 81-82 – 163.
Abby Marting and
Sam Paulak completed the Bulldogs scoring with rounds of 81-83 – 164 and 86-83 – 169, respectively.
Kelly Kavanaugh competed as an individual and finished at 81-83 – 164.
The final round of the three-round tournament tees off Tuesdays at 9 a.m.
