The Drake University women's golf team finished in 10
th place Tuesday afternoon at the Diane Daugherty Invite in Kirkwood, Mo.
The Bulldogs began the day in eighth but carded a team round of 321 in the third and final round to drop two spots on the leaderboard in the 16-team field. The Bulldogs finished at 313-317-321 – 951. Arkansas State won the event with a 301-304-309 – 914 on the par-71, 6,402-yard course at Greenbriar Hills Country Club.
Haeri Lee led the Bulldogs again on the final day with a 39-38 – 77 to finish the event in a tie for fifth with rounds of 75-72-77 – 224. Newcomer Aauyshi Sarkar had the Bulldogs' second-best round of the day with a 38-41 – 79 in a round that included back-to-back birdies on the front nine. Sarkar finished tied for 46
th at 81-82-79 – 242.
Drake's other three scorers all finished in the 80s on the final day at
Kristen Giles tied for 49
th,
Abby Marting in 61
st and
Sam Paulak in 72
nd. Kelly Kavanaugh competed as an individual and finished tied for 68
th.
The Bulldogs return to action April 10-11 at the UNI Spring Invitational.
