The Drake University women's golf team sits in seventh place heading into the final round of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Charles, Mo.
The Bulldogs fired first-day rounds of 313 and 319 to sit in seventh, 10 strokes ahead of eight-place Indiana State and four strokes behind sixth-place Bradley. Evansville sits on top of the team leaderboard at 300-304 – 604.
Drake was led in the morning round by
Haeri Lee's 74 on the par-71, 5,987-yard course. Lee finished at 1-under on the back nine with back-to-back birdies. Unfortunately, she followed that with an 81 in the afternoon round to sit in a tie for 15
th among individuals.
Aauyshi Sarkar and
Kristen Giles both carded 78s in the afternoon as Giles sits in a tie for 18
th at 78-78 – 156 while Arkar is tied for 26
th at 82-78 – 160.
Evansville's Sophia Rohleder led all players at 75-74 – 149.
The teams return to the course Tuesday at 8 a.m. for the final round of the event.
