SOLON, Iowa – The Drake University rowing team competed against strong competition Saturday, April 24 at the Iowa Regatta on Lake McBride.
"We knew going into today face some of the best competition in the country," said Drake head coach
Charlie DiSilvestro. "We set a goal for each boat to row to its potential by putting together each of their race plans. Almost every boat had their race plan come together and they executed so much better than our past few competitions. We really stood up to the strong competition, raced hard, pulled for each other. I'm really proud of them and it was a really great day."
Drake raced against four tough power 5 programs in No. 18 Iowa, No. 16 Minnesota, No. 18 Wisconsin and Kansas in its third race of the school year.
Drake travels to Wyandotte, Kan. on May 1 to compete against Kansas in a duel. It will be the Bulldogs final race before the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships May 16.
