A total of 12 members of the Drake University track and field team have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field Scholar-Athlete Team, the league announced Wednesday, June 2.
To earn a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete team, student-athletes must own a 3.3 or better cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore and have placed in the top eight of an individual event or top three in a relay at an MVC Championship.
Drake's men's squad had five members named to the team while seven women garnered the honor. Four of the honorees also earned All-MVC honors during the course of the season.
