TUCSON, Arizona — The Drake University women's tennis team was clipped by No. 51 Arizona, 4-0, Tuesday in Tucson.

The Bulldogs kicked off their trip to the southwest on Tuesday in Tucson before heading to Phoenix on Thursday. 

The Bulldogs opened the day with doubles play. Ines Stephani and Rebecca Ehn fell to their opponent by only two points as they finished 6-4. The duo were the closest to winning a doubles match for Drake.

Three Bulldogs matches went unfinished in the singles portion of the day.

Stephani fell in set one after attempting to take down Lexi Ryngler, 6-4. Ryngler managed to hold Stephani to only two points in set two to win the meeting. 

Drake looks to bounce back on Thursday as it takes on Grand Canyon at 12pm.
