FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Drake University track & field student-athlete Isaac Basten ran a 1500m run time of 3:42.90 in the NCAA Division I Track & Field West Preliminary at John McDonnell Field on Friday, May 27 to advance to the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships.
 
Basten finished the first round of the men's 1500m run with a time of 3:43.05 on Wednesday (May 25) before running 3:42.90 in the quarterfinal round on Friday to move on to Nationals.
 
Aziz Jdai competed in the 3000m Steeplechase and finished with a time of 9:00.65. Jdai did not qualify for the NCAA Championships.
 
Basten will join Bulldog men's hammer thrower Anthony Barmes at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 8-11 in Eugene, Ore.
