EUGENE, Ore. – Drake University track & field student-athlete
Isaac Basten was smart and tactical to log a 1500m time of 3:39.45 in the NCAA Division I Track & Field Outdoor championships semifinal at Hayward Field on Wednesday, June 8. Basten moved on to the final round amongst elite competition.
The Buffalo, Minn., native shifted back to lane one during the final lap to finish third in his hear. Drake men's track & field has had a finalist in the mile or 1500m run at four consecutive NCAA Championships.
In the men's hammer throw,
Anthony Barmes finished in 21
st place and earned NCAA All-America Honorable Mention status. His second throw of the afternoon sailed 215'-1" (65.57m).

Basten secured a place in the 1500m run final on Friday (June 10) at 8:12 p.m. CT.
