ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Drake track & field sophomore Anthony Barmes earned Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday, Feb. 15. 

Barmes set his personal record weight throw of 20.55m (67'5.25") to win the men's weight throw at the South Dakota State Indoor Classic on Saturday as he ranks second in Drake men's track & field history. The throw of 20.55m (67'5.25") is the farthest weight throw from a Drake Bulldog in 10 years and currently leads the MVC this season while ranking seventh in the Midwest region so far this year (39^th in NCAA). 

The Drake track & field team will appear next at the Iowa Open on Friday, Feb. 17 as its gears up for the 2023 MVC indoor track & field championships.
