CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The Drake women's golf began the 2023 spring season at Corpus Christi Country Club (par 72 | 6,112 yards) as the Bullogs are tied for eighth place after the first two rounds with a combined score of 642 (328-314-642). 

Amber Henson was consistent on day one (79-79-158) and is in a tie for 14th place overall. Kristen Giles (81-78-159) and Aayushi Sarkar (82-78-160) both improved their scores with a 78 in the second round. 

Rylee Heryford (90-79-169) bettered her first round score by 11 strokes in round two. Erika Holmberg (86-83-159) also turned in a two-round total of 159. 

Drake is ahead of fellow Missouri Valley Conference members Southern Illinois (653) and Valparaiso (678). UTRGV (617) is atop the team leaderboard heading into the final 18-hole round on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
