NORMAL, Ill. – Anthony Barmes repeated as the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor champion in the men's hammer throw as a total of five Bulldogs reached the podium on day one at the Redbird Track & Field Complex on Friday, May 12.
 
Carmen Krawczynski Gonzalez (36:01.44) took runner-up in the women's 10,000m while Enzo Marie also finished second in the men's 10,000m with a time of 30:45.25.
 
Barmes' heave of 217-06 easily claimed first place for the second consecutive year in the men's hammer throw. Ethan Marshall (204-03) took third and Centaine Noom-Duckworth (184-07) also earned a bronze medal in the women's hammer throw.
 
Day two of the MVC Outdoor Championships will commence on Saturday, May 13.
