ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Anthony Barmes of Drake track & field earned Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors for the sixth time this year, the league announced on Tuesday, May 9.

Barmes won the men's hammer throw at the Iowa State Alumni Invitational on Saturday, May 6 with a meet record throw of 69.22m/227'1".

Barmes currently ranks 10th in the NCAA in the hammer throw this season and is the second-best so far this year in the Midwest Region.

Drake track & field travels next to Normal Ill., for the MVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 12-14.
