BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Drake women's golf team competed in its final event of the fall season at the Clash at Boulder Creek and wrapped up play on Tuesday afternoon. The Bulldogs recorded their best finish of the 2024 fall season ending in fifth place out of the 17-team field.
Drake carded a team total of 855 (282-287-286) over the three days of play in the desert. San Francisco finished well ahead of the field to win the team title at 823 (274-276-273).
A trio of Bulldogs recorded top-20 finishes and tied for 17th at 212 in
Amber Henson,
Julie Huggins and
Alexis Reyes. Henson shot 68-72-72, Huggins carded rounds of 73-69-70, and Reyes tallied scores of 70-70-72, respectively. For Reyes, she paced the field in scoring average on par three's with a mark of 2.67. Henson, meanwhile, recorded 15 birdies over her three rounds which was tied for the fourth most.
Erika Holmberg finished tied in 43rd posting a 219 (71-76-72) and
Rylee Heryford ended in 85th at 229 with consistent rounds of 77-76-76.
Vunnisa Vu from Fresno State and Eva Pett from San Francisco tied atop the leaderboard for individual medalist honors with both golfers recording final scores of 15-under, 201.
This concludes the fall portion of the season for Drake. The Bulldogs will return to action for the spring season in the new year.
