ST. LOUIS -- Drake junior thrower Adam Phillips was recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Phillips won the Iowa Open on Friday, Feb. 16 and set a meet record with his weight throw of 21.59m/70-10", his second best weight throw outing. Phillips ranks first in the MVC in weight throw, eighth in the Midwest region and 27^th in the NCAA.

The Drake track & field teams have been preparing all season for the MVC Indoor Championships in Chicago Feb. 25-26.
