The Basics
The Bulldogs are primed to compete in their final regular season race tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. in a tune-up duel against Iowa. The race will occur in Iowa City, and the Bulldogs will race two varsity fours and two varsity eight boats. The race won't be a full 200 meters, but it will be broken up into two 1000-meter races. Each Bulldog boat will have two Iowa boats to race against.
Head Coach Charlie DiSilvestro on the Race
"Our team knows the challenge ahead. Iowa's a very strong team and we appreciate them for hosting us and giving us a chance to compete against them."
DiSilvestro on the Team's Goals
"Our goal for the weekend is to use the race as a final tune-up for our conference championship in two weeks. Even though it's not a full 2000-meter piece, we're going to run them as if they were a full race. So, it'll be an abbreviated race, but we'll get to go through it twice."
Creighton Recap
Last weekend Drake squared off against Creighton in a tune-up duel. Each boat only raced once, which mirrored the MAAC Championship format. The team rowed hard, and the highlight of the day was a varsity four victory. The first varsity four boat rowed an 8:26.6 time en route to winning its head-to-head race.
