LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Drake women's golf team ended its time at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Tuesday afternoon and finished in 14th (305-316-316=937).
Host institution Kansas won the tournament by 14 strokes carding a team total of 855.
Freshman
Annabelle Bush had the best individual finish for Drake tying for 44th on the leaderboard. Bush shot rounds of 75-79-77 en route to her total score of 231.
Next on the leaderboard was
Amber Henson and
Julie Huggins. Henson tied for 53rd after compiling a total score of 233 (77-79-77) and Huggins was one shot behind, tied for 55th, at 234 (74-77-83).
Kate Connolly and
Alexis Reyes completed the Drake lineup finishing in solo 63rd and solo 75th. Connolly shot a total of 239 (79-81-79) and Reyes posted a final total of 249 (80-84-85).
Kansas' Ebba Nordstedt took home individual medalist honors and was the only player in the field under par at 6-under, 207 (63-71-73).
Drake will return to the course in a couple of weeks to close out the fall season with the Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev., Oct. 27-28.
