ST. LOUIS, Mo. –The Drake women's golf team had a pair of student athletes named to the 2025 MVC Scholar-Athlete Teams, the league announced on Wednesday.
Erika Holmberg was selected to the First Team and
Julie Huggins garnered a Second Team selection.
Holmberg finished the season ranking third on Drake with an average of 76.52. She recorded four top-20 finishes on the season while playing in nine tournaments and posted two top-10 results tying for 10th at the WIU Intercollegiate with a 54-hole score of 236 and saved her best for last at the MVC Tournament tying for sixth at 221. The junior recorded her lowest round of the season at the MVC Tournament with an opening round 2-under, 70.
Huggins ended the season ranking first on Drake with an average of 76.08 and recorded six top-20 finishes on the season while playing in nine tournaments. Huggins tallied one top-10 result at the WIU Intercollegiate where she tied for seventh with a 54-hole score of 231. She fired the second lowest round of the season with a second round 69 during the Clash at Boulder Cree and finished T21 at the MVC Tournament with a total score of 229.
